I have to admit love homemade bread, but myself and toddler both react to gluten. Unfortunately, gluten free bread at grocery stores have ingredients list longer than my right arm. And some of these ingredients are pretty questionable and I don’t know about you, but I want simple and whole food-based ingredients.
In this recipe you will learn how to homemade bread using a gluten free bread recipe, buckwheat flour. This bread is pretty dense and that’s because it is high in fibre. Fibre is essential for your toddler’s diet for their bowel health! This homemade gluten free bread recipe is what I feed my toddler to help with bowel movements.
This gluten free bread recipe can be used for a kids lunch to make sandwiches or for a healthy toddler breakfast.
What you need to make the magic:
Yeast Starter:
1 glass jar
2 tsp of yeast
1/2 – 1 tsp organic sugar
1 cup of warm (not cold water)
Let it sit until the yeast start eating the sugar. You will see bubbles in the jar and that is how you know the yeast are eating up the sugar. Wait until the bubbles have slowed down or stopped before making the bread
Bread Mixture:
Oven at 400F
1 mixing bowl
1 glass OR stainless- steel baking pan
Oil to grease the pan
1 ½ cups of buckwheat flour
2 pinches of salt
The yeast mixture
Mix altogether and let it sit in baking pan for 2 hours with a damp cloth over it. Bake at 400F for 20 minutes
