My favorite use for over ripe bananas, is banana bread. When they are too soft and ripe to enjoy biting into, don’t throw them out, mash them and make banana bread. Betty Crocker suggests walnuts. Walnuts are always a great pair with banana bread. Here at HandyDandyCrafts we have a real weakness for chocolate, so we replace the walnuts with chocolate chips. Personally I think walnuts and chocolate chips together would be a nice thing, unfortunately my family says no to nuts. Replacing your oil with applesauce is another nice change. Applesauce makes your baked goods incredibly moist! so yummy. Applesauce is not a good replacement for baked goods that you want that crispy touch added, like brownies or chocolate chip cookies.
