Easy Cook Appam
Guys, sorry missed out. We need to ferment the appam batter overnight before we start preparing appams.
Ingredients:
Regular Raw Rice (Soaked for 4 Hrs) – 1 Cup
Cooked Rice – ½ Cup
Methi / Fenugreek Seeds – 1 Spoon
Urad Dal – 3 Spoons
Rock Salt – As Required
Cooking Oil – As Required
PROCESS:
• SOAK RAW RICE, URAD DAL, METHI SEEDS FOR 4 HOURS
• GRIND THE SOAKED MIXTURE & COOKED RICE INTO THIN & SMOOTH BATTER
• ADD ROCK SALT AS REQUIRED
• FERMENT THE BATTER OVERNIGHT
• HEAT THE APPAM PAN
• POUR APPAM BATTER WITH A LARGE LADLE
• POUR OIL AROUND THE SIDES
• HOLD THE HANDLES & SWRIL IT
• THE BATTER WILL SPREAD EVENLY IN ROUND SHAPE
• CLOSE THE LID & COOK UNTIL APPAM IS DONE
• REMOVE THE LID & GENTLY LIFT THE APPAM WITH A SPATULA
• SERVE HOT WITH VEG KURMA OR COCONUT MILK
