Filling:
• 3 tablespoons ghee • 1/2 cup oil • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder • 2 cups plain flour • 1/2 tsp cardamom • 1 cup sugar

For the bread:
• 3 cups plain flour • 2 tbsp yeast • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder • 1/3 cup sugar • 1/2 cup butter • 1/2 tsp salt • 2 cups warm milk • Egg

METHOD
Mix flour with yeast, turmeric powder, sugar, salt and mix. Add butter, milk and mix again very well.
Let stand for two hours.
Cook the ghee, oil, turmeric powder, flour, cardamom and sugar in a pan, mix until you get a smooth paste. Let it cool.
Divide the dough into 8 buns. Flatten each bun to form a circle. Place a tablespoon of the paste in the center of each circle, form a bun again and then flatten, making sure the paste stays inside the bread.
Brush beaten egg over each bun. Press a spoon into the dough lightly to create a pattern.
Place the discs on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes at 180ºC (356ºF), take out the tray, splash a little water on each bun and bake for another 10 minutes at 180ºC (356ºF).
