In this episode of samaikalam yengaludan we came here with the new recipe of Keerai Vadai(Spinach Vadai) is a conventional Masal Vadai but with the addition of Keerai (Spinach) in it. It’s one of the popular starters for the functions and get-togethers. We can use many varieties of the greens leaves of your choice. Though there are many varieties of keerai options available, here we use ponnanganni keerai for making the keerai vadai.
The ingredents are given below,
cleaned spinach leaves- 1 cup,
channa dal- 200g(soaked with water),
ulard dall- 1 Tsp,
fine chop onion- 2 big size,
Mint, curry, and coriander leaves-1 hand full,
green chilli- 5 no’s ( fine chopped),
ginger garlic paste- 1 Tsp,
sombu – 1/2 Tsp,
Dry mango powder- 1 Pinch,
cumin- 1/2 Tsp,
Oil- 500 ml( as your requirement depends on your utensil ).
This vadai is usually very crunchy perked with chopped green leaves.Keerai Vadai can be served with coconut chutney, and a cup of Coffee/Tea is the best combo in the evening.
