Ragi , Nachani or finger millet is wonder grain with enormous health benefits. This tiny brown grains are rich source of calcium, iron and dietary fibers. Eating ragi regularly may help to reduce weight, improve immunity and provides good bone health. When this wonder grain combined with semolina, linseed, oats and yogurt it turns into super delicious healthy breakfast recipes like Ragi appe and Ragi Chila. This breakfast recipes are good in iron, calcium, protein and fiber. This is perfect food for all age groups.

Ingredients

Ragi appe

1/2 Cup Ragi flour
1/2 Cup Semolina
1/2 Cup Yogurt
2 tspn Linseed powder
1 table spoon Oats
1 tspn Ghee
1 tspn Black gram dal
1/2 tspn Mustard Seed
1/2 Chopped Onion
1/2 Cup Chopped Coriander leaves
2 Chopped Green Chili
2 Garlic Cloves
1 inch Ginger

Procedure

🎄Mix ragi flour, semolina, yogurt, linseed powder, oats and ghee in a bowl and add 1/2 of water to make the batter.
☘Keep the batter aside for 15 minutes
🥀Heat a pan, add 1/2 tspn of oil, add mustard seed and let them pop.
🌼Then add black gram dal to the pan and fry it till get brown
🎋Add chopped garlic and ginger and soute it for 2 minutes then add chopped onion, green chili and coriander leaves.
🌾Sprinkle little amount of slat over it and let it cook for 5 minutes
🌿Now take the batter bowl and add above cooked onion mixture to the batter and mix well.
🌴Add pinch of baking soda to the batter mix well and batter is ready for making appe.
🍄Heat the cavity pan and grease it with oil.
🌺Pour the batter into cavities with spoon and cober the pan.
🌻The appe cook on moderate flame for 10 minutes.
🌹Turn the appe and again cook for 5 minutes.
Insert a tooth peak insight appe and if it comes out clean, appe are ready.
🙏Serves it with pumpkin dip.

Pumpkin Dip
Ingredients

1 Cup pumpkin
1 tspn jaggery
Salt to taste
black pepper powder to taste

Procedure
🍂Cook pumpkin peaces with jaggery, salt and black pepper powder in water.
👉Cook untill pumpkin is easily crush to make paste
🍀Grind the cooked pumpkin into grinder to make fine paste
🌾Pumpkin dip is ready to serve.

Ragi chila

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Ragi Flour
1/2 Cup Semolina
1/2 Cup Yogurt
2 tspn Linseed powder
1 tspn Ghee
1 table spoon Oats

Procedure
🎋Mix all ingredients in a bowl and make the batter by adding 1/2 cup of water.
🍄Consistancy should not be so thin
🍂Heat the nonstick pan and grease it with oil.
🎄Pour the batter to make round chila
🌿Slightly spread the batter with spoon.
🌺Let it cook untill the color of surface became dark brown it may take 4 to 5 minutes.
🌿Turn it and again cook for 3 to 4 minutes
🌺Ragi chila is ready to serve.
