This is a 100% whole wheat bread recipe. Doesn’t have eggs, maida and sugar. Soft and yummy whole wheat bread. Kneading is the key to a soft and yummy bread. So, don’t skip this step. This is a healthy bread, good for breakfast, snack. Enjoy with a salad, some butter or just Jam.

Best ever No Knead Sandwich bread –

White Milk Bread –

Ingredients

247 ml – Luke warm water
1 and 1/2tsp – Instant yeast
2 tbsp Honey
45gms Unsalted butter
1 tsp Salt
356 gms Whole wheat flour

Method

Pour luke warm water in a bowl.
Add Instant Yeast, Honey
Mix well. Keep this aside for 1 min.
It’s not needed, as this is an instant yeast.
I just wanted to show the yeast working…
Now add Unsalted butter. Just mix it… No need to melt it in the yeast mixture.
Add Salt and Whole wheat flour.
First, combine using your spatula.
Now, use your hands to mix everything together
If it feels sticky, don’t add flour.. just keep kneading. After sometime everything will come together.
Transfer the dough onto a buttered or oiled surface
Knead well for 15 mins
This will activate the gluten which is
needed for making bread soft
Towards 15 mins, you will see that the dough has become very soft and smooth.
Do a windowpane test.
Place it in a buttered bowl and spread some butter on top of the dough.
Cover and place it in a warm place for 2 hrs or
till it’s double in size.
After 2 hrs, your dough would be doubled in size.
Press it down to knock out some of the air from it. Place it on a buttered surface. knead gently, not for more than a minute.
Keep a buttered loaf tin ready.
Roll the dough tightly into a log. Pinch and seal the seams. Place it in the loaf tin.
Cover and let it rise for 1 hr.
Preheat your oven @200 degree Celsius
for 15 mins.
After 1 hour, the dough is beautifully risen.
Brush some milk on top.
Keep it in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 mins, till done.
Once it’s done, take it out on a wire rack.
Brush some butter on top. Cover and let it stay for 5 mins in the tin. Not more than 5 mins as it will become soggy due to moisture.
Take it out, cover and let it cool down completely on the wire rack, before slicing.
Once it’s cooled, slice and Enjoy!!
