Instant idli recipe
Ingredients of High protein Dahi Idli
Wheat semolina (3/4 cup) – 150 gm (17 spoons)
Curd (3/4 cup) – 180 gm (10 spoons)
Green Peas – 30 gm
Capsicum – 60 gm (chopped)
Onion – 60 gm (chopped)
Pumpkin – 50 gm (grated)
Coriander leaves – 5 gm (chopped)
Carrot – 100 gm (grated)
Oil – 5 gm -For Tempering (optional)

Spices
Red chili powder
Coriander powder
Cumin seeds powder
Carom seeds
Salt as per taste
Mustard seeds and Sesame seeds (For Tempering – optional)
(Turmeric and other spices optional as per cooking culture)

Cooking Method
Take wheat semolina and curd in a bowl. Mix well, add little water if required and soak for 30 minutes. This will make wheat semolina absorb the curd properly.
I have used curd and green peas to increase the protein content of this recipe.
Grate carrot and pumpkin and finely chop the other vegetables into a chopper.
After 30 minutes, the batter is almost ready. Take the batter in a bowl. Add all the chopped vegetables.
In spices add red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds powder, carom seeds, salt as per taste. Turmeric and other spices may be added as optional depending upon cooking culture. Do add water ¼ if required to maintain consistency.
Grease the idli mold with cooking oil.
Add a pinch of ENO powder and mix the batter in one direction only.
Pour the batter into the mold and put instantly into the idli cooker for 15 minutes
The batter makes 20 medium idlis. You can take a toothpick taste to see if idli is properly cooked or not. Allow it to cool before scooping the idli out of the mold.

Our healthy high protein instant idli is ready.
It is recommended to take 6 idli in a meal with chutney in your weight loss diet plan or apply some tempering.
If you are going for later cut each idli into 4 pieces, add 1 spoon oil in a heated pan followed by mustard seed and sesame seeds. Once they crackle, add the cut idlis to the pan and cook up to 5-7 minutes on a low to medium heat. You can serve hot without chutney.
You can have this dish in the breakfast or at dinner in your meal plan for weight loss
If you are taking only steamed idli, you may increase portion by 1 or 2 depending upon your hunger.
