Today we are going to flip the traditional Cubano on it’s side…making all new and full of flavor! Watch as we transform this into a light refreshing Cuba style sandwich.
Nuevo Cubano
4 (3-ounce) whole-wheat sub rolls, cut in half lengthwise
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 (15-ounce) can no-salt-added black beans, rinsed and drained
4 ounces thinly sliced reduced-sodium deli ham
1 peeled mango or 2 large tomatoes, thinly sliced
3 ounces thinly sliced provolone cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
