On this video, i show you yet another simple,affordable recipe that you can make at home with ingredients available at your mama mboga. This soup is healthy and very simple to make.All you need is a blender that will be used at the end or you can just mash it yourself if you don’t own one. Below are the list of ingredients:

INGREDIENTS

1 Butternut
1 red onion
Spring onions
1 tbsp Margarine/butter
1 clove of Garlic(optional)
Ginger
Carrots chopped
Maziwa lala/plain yoghurt

METHOD

Start by chopping the butternut then remove the skin and make sure to leave some cause why not? Boil the butternut with some salt. After it’s fully cooked,remove it from the pan and transfer it into a bowl.
Start by putting oil in your pan then put some blueband and then add the onions or onions then blueband(butter)…..cook the onions until they are almost golden brown then add the garlic and ginger paste.Add some salt then put your chopped carrots and your cooked butternut.add some water or broth if you have …..I used water cause I didn’t have broth….. allow it to simmer then add a splash of mala..(you can also add more blueband if you would like)Adjust your ingredients if you have to….stir and let it simmer again for about 4 minutes.remove from the gas/stove then put the mixture in a blender to make it smooth.
Garnish with spring onions,sesame seeds,chia seeds…whatever you have.

serve hot or warm with croutons.
