Carrots are very high in beta carotene.Carrots are often one of baby’s first food. They are easy to digest and are packed full of nutrients such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Calcium.

A study showed 1/3 lower cancer risk by carrot eating mice. The high levels beta-carotene act as an antioxidant to cell damage done to the body through regular metabolism. It help slows down the aging of cells

Ingredients:
3 tsp rice(boiled rice)
1 tsp pigeon peas(Toor dal/ Thuvaram paruppu)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds(zeera/ seeragam)
1/2 carrot(chopped)
1 garlic clove
200ml water
1 tsp ghee

Recipe:
Step 1: Soak rice and pigeon peas for 15 mins.
Step 2: Rinse the rice, pigeon peas and drain the water.
Step 3: Add all ingredients -rice, pigeon peas, carrots, garlic clove, cumin seeds, water and pressure cook it. Wait for 4 whistles(takes around 5-7 minutes) and off the stove.
Step 4: Let the pressure subsides by itself (takes around 5 minutes). Mash the food throughly and add 1 tsp of ghee.Now the food is ready to serve.
