This very soft and fluffy bread goes really well with the fragrant garlic butter.
I’ve been eating a lot of garlic butter bread since I was a young.
And I can say that this bread is the softest garlic butter bread I’ve ever eaten!

Garlic Butter Bread
6 servings
All purpose flour 250g
Whole wheat flour 50g
Sugar 10g
Salt 5g (1 tsp)
Instant dry yeast 5g (1 tsp)
Lukewarm water 160-180g
Unsalted butter 15g
– Garlic Butter
Unsalted butter 80g
Chopped garlic 1 Tbsp (15g)
Honey 1 Tbsp (17g)
Salt 1/4 tsp (2g)
Please prepare ✔️
* Leave the butter at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour to get rid of cold.
* Chop garlic.
1. Put all the dry ingredients (flour, whole wheat flour, sugar, salt, instant dry yeast) in a clean bowl and lightly mix with a whisk.
2. Add in lukewarm water in 3 portions. Make a moist dough that neither dry nor sticky at this point. Then add in unsalted butter and mix. Transfer it to the workbench and begin kneading the dough.
3. Use the heels of your hands to push down and outward, lengthening and stretching the strands of gluten and dough fibers. Continue to knead, folding and turning the dough, until it is smooth and supple. (Approximately 10-15 minutes) Take a small piece of dough and slowly stretch it out in opposite directions. If the dough becomes thin enough to appear semi-transparent before it tears, it’s done.
4. Transfer the dough into a clean bowl and cover with a wet cotton cloth. Let dough proof until puffy and doubled in size in a warm place. (About 1 hour / Time may vary depending on the working environment. You need a warm environment is that between 24 to 36ºC. (75 to 95ºF))
5. Transfer the dough to the workbench and divide it into 6 pieces. Shape each dough into a smooth ball of dough and cove the top. Then wait for 15 minutes.
6. After 15 minutes, Let the smooth side of the dough go the bottom and press it with your palm to make it flat. Roll the dough from top to bottom and shape both ends finely. (*Please check the video for more detail.) Let the seams of the dough go to the bottom of the tray. Let dough proof until it 1,5-doubled in size in a warm place. (About 40-50 minutes)
7. Prepare garlic butter. In a clean bowl, put softened unsalted butter and gently loosen, then add the rest of the ingredients and mix well together. Put all the garlic butter in a piping bag and set aside.
8. 15 minutes before baking, put boiling water in an oven container and place it on the bottom of the oven. Then preheat the oven to 180℃ (356℉). Score the surface of the dough using a very sharp knife. Use a spray to sprinkle some water on the top of the dough, and put the prepared garlic butter on it. Bake for 15-18 minutes in an oven preheated to 180℃ (356℉).
9. Allow it cool on a wire rack completely.
