Jowar Dosa & Idli Recipe | Weight Loss Millet Recipes | Healthy Breakfast And Lunch Recipe

We have brought this Jowar idli and dosa recipe which is made with fermented batter, helps in weight loss and is very healthy. While fermented food like idli, dosa are rich source of Vitamin B12, probiotics, fibers and minerals; Jowar flour promotes weight loss, intact gut health and boost energy levels. Please find the recipe below:

Ingredients:
• White urad dal – 3/4 cup
• Fenugreek seeds – 2 tbsp
• Soaked flattened rice (poha) / Cooked rice – 3/4 cup
• Jowar flour – 3 cup
• Water – 3 and 1/2 cup
• Salt to taste

Recipe:
1. Soak urad dal and fenugreek seeds in a bowl for 2 hours. Also soak flattened rice (poha) for half an hour.
2. After 2 hours wash them 2-3 times and add in mixer grinder, add some salt to taste and water. Grind it in a fine paste.
3. Now add soaked flattened rice and again grind it.
4. Gradually add 3 cups of Jowar aata and remaining water to it and grind it.
5. Transfer it in a large deep vessel or pot, cover with lid and keep it in some warm place to ferment overnight or 10-12 hours.
6. Next day or after fermenting it make idli on very first day. For that grease the idli mould, add the batter and steam them for 10-12 minutes.
7. Dosa can be made same or next day with the same batter. Heat a large pan, grease it with some oil/ghee and add ladder full of batter to the pan. Spread in circular motion. Drizzle some oil over it and cook for 2-3 minutes.
8. Serve hot with sambhar or chutney of your choice.

Notes:
1. Batter can be put in fridge to use it for next 2 days.
2. Try to make idli on very first day and dosa or uttapam on next days.
