Indian Flatbread recipe / Tortilla bread for shawarma / Pita bread / Healthy Mealbox

Procedure:

1. To activate yeast, add half cup lukewarm mik, half cup lukewarm water, 1 TSP sugar to bowl and mix well.

2. Let it sit for 10 minutes.

3. After 10 minutes, the yeast will be activated.

4. Now let’s start kneading the flour. I have taken 350 gms refined wheat flour. Add little salt, 2 TSP oil, then the activated yeast. Mix everything well and add water little by little.

5. The dough will be sticky in the initial. Knead well for 10 minutes continuously.

6. After 10 minutes, add 1 TSP oil and knead until the oil is completely mixed with the dough. Now close it and keep for at least one hour.

7. After 2 hours, the dough has risen up well. Again knead it once and divide the dough into small balls. Keep it closed for another 5 minutes.

8. Dust the rolling pan with flour, roll the dough ball to 1/4 inch thickness.

9. Preheat tawa and apply little oil. Place the rolled bread on the hot tawa and cook flipping both sides. Press the bread gently so that it will fluff up.

10. Serve hot with sauce or any curry.
