Sharing with you another healthy breakfast recipe that is easy to make and delicious to taste. Rich in iron they are really good for kids. Even those children who don’t like palak/spinach will find them attractive. Do Try These spinach/Palak Idlis

Ingredients to make Palak / Spinach Idli :-

1 cup besan/chickpeas flour
1 cup sooji /semolina
1 cup curd
1.5 cup g/spinach
Water as required
Salt to taste
1 tsp spice mix
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tbsp olive oil

For tempering:-
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
Some curry Leaves

Method to make Spinach / palak Idli :-

Combine besan, sooji and curd in a large bowl are set aside for 15 minutes
Meanwhile grind the spinach in a grinder to make Puree.
The batter will be thick after 15 min. Add water and mix again make sure their are no lumps in the batter.
Add all the spices & mix everything again
Add puréed Palak/ spinach & mix properly
Transfer the batter in greased Idli tray
Put the tray with the batter into the steamer( make sure the water is hot when you place the tray)
Now cover it with a lid, leaving some open space
The Idlis will take 8-9 minutes to cook.
Once cooked let the idlis stand in the steamer for few more minutes.
Than take out the tray, and demould the idlis.

For tempering heat 1 tsp olive oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and curry Leaves.
Once they start to crackle remove from heat and sprinkle on top of your idli.
Your Palak Idlis are ready to serve.
Serve it for breakfast or as snack with your favourite Chutney, you can also pack it for lunch.
