Now the dosa is my favorite. You can have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Normally I don’t eat it for dinner but for breakfast and lunch dosa always works.
What about quantities?
Now since rice is the main basis of this dosa, I put about two and a half cups of rice. So I put the rice separately. I wash it two or three times and I soak it overnight. It is important to soak the rice because it has to become brittle to grind it properly.
I use a grinder. Now with the urad dal, I use maybe three-fourth cups of urad dal. I like not fully there but almost there in the cup. Then add oats. With oats, if you use too much of the oats then it gets sticky, and then it sticks to the pan.
So I use maybe half a cup of oats in this and of course coconut, you can put as much as you want because it just adds to the texture, the flavor, the sweetness, and it’s high in fiber. You don’t really need to soak the coconut.
I just put it all together, the rice, the dal, the oats, and the coconut. So soak everything overnight and blend it the next day.
