Hello all. Here I am presenting one more simple yet healthy south indian Veg lunch or south indian Veg Thali.
I have prepared palak dal Side dish / palak soppu palya / spinach and lentil stir fry,
Soft and layered chapatis /soft Tortilla,
Tomato and tamarind rasam /tili saaru
Along with Steamed rice, curd and ghee (tuppa, clarified butter)

Ingredients list

Palak (spinach) dal side dish (palya)

1 bunch Palak/spinach leaves
1 cup cooked toor dal /togari bele /split pigeon pea
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 teaspoon mustard seeds /sasive
5 to 6 dried red chillies (byadagi menasinakaayi) – adjust to your taste
Salt as required
2 tablespoons fresh /desiccated coconut
Soft chapatis / soft wheat tortilla

1 cup wheat flour /godhi Hittu / atta
Milk /haalu as required
(you can use water to form the dough, but using milk makes it softer)
Salt as required
(if you are using water, add 2 tablespoons of oil to the dough)
Tomato and tamarind rasam /tili saaru

2 Tomatoes
Small ball sized tamarind – extract juice
3 tablespoons curry powder (sambar pudi)
1 and half teaspoons jaggery powder /bellada pudi
Salt as required
Water used for boiling the dal
Few curry leaves (Kari bevu)
1 tablespoon cumin powder /jeerige pudi
2 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon mustard seeds /sasive
Hing/asafoetida
1 tablespoon grated fresh or desiccated coconut
Curd, steamed or cooked rice,ghee (clarified butter)
