Delicious Ukrainian red Borscht soup recipe, it’s great for diet since it’s low on calories, while also been very filling and healthy. For full recipe see:

Ingredients:
800g of potatoes
200g of beets
300g of fresh cabbage
100-150g of carrots
100g of beans (optional, and you can use a preferred kind)
200g of onions
250-300g of fresh tomatoes
40g of celery
80g of swiss chard (optional)
1 tbsp of tomato paste (salsa, tomato juice, or tomato sauce can be used as alternatives)
35g of salt
2 ½ L of water
Black pepper to taste
3 – 4 tbsp of vegetable oi
¼ teaspoon cherry syrup
1 tsp Ginger and lemon mixture
¼ tsp of turmaric

Instructions:
1. Bring pot of water to a boil while you are preparing the ingredients
2. Peel and cube the potatoes, slice cabbage into thin strips
3. When the water is boiling, drop in the potatoes, beans, cabbage and salt in, let it all boil for about 20 minutes
4. Preparing ingredients for frying:
a. Cube onions, and set aside
b. Grade carrots and beets thinly, set aside together
c. Cut celery and swiss chard into thin strips, cube potatoes and set aside together
d. Set spices together aside tomato paste, black pepper, ginger, lemon, turmeric, and cherry syrup
5. Set large pan on medium heat, pout vegetable oil, then when oil is hot:
a. Fry onions until they become golden (about 3 minutes)
b. After onions change color, add carrots and beets, cover with lid, and let fry for 5 minutes until they become soft
c. Then add celery, swiss chard, tomatoes and spice mixture into the pan, cover with lid and fry for another 5 minutes
6. Once you done frying, add the frying pan content into the soup pot, and let everything together boil for 5 minutes on low heat
