How to make Bisibelabath?
Ingredients
Brown rice – 1 cup
Toor dal – 1cup
Chopped mixed vegetables of your choice – 2 cup
Turmeric powder
Salt
Tamarind juice – 1 cup
Bisibelabath powder – 2 spoon
oil
water
ghee
For tempering
Mustard seeds – 1 spoon,
Udar dal – 1 spoon
red chilli
hing
curry leaves
peanut – 1 cup
cashew nuts
corriander leaves
Step 1
How to prepare Bisi bela bath / huli anna?
Wash and soak rice and Toor dal for 1 hour.
After 1 hour add all vegetables of your choice
Add turmeric and cook up to 3 whistles in cooker.
Step 2
Heat pan and add oil
When oil gets heated add mustard seeds, udar dal, red chillies, curry leaves, hing and saute well.
Add Tamarind water
When it gets boiled add Bisi bela bath powder.
Add water and then add cooked rice, dal and vegetable.
Give it a good mix. Make sure that everything combined well
Add salt and cook for 5 minutes.
Transfer this in Serving Bowl.
Fry Cashew nuts and Peanuts in Ghee and Add it to Bisi bela bath.
You can also add Kara Bhondi for extra taste.
How to make Bise bela bath powder at home?
Ingredients
Corriander Seeds – 1/4 cup
Chana Dal – 1/4 cup
Urad dal – 2 spoon
Cumin seeds – 2 spoon
Methi seeds – 1/2 spoon
Sesame seeds – 2 Spoon
Poppy seeds – 2 Spoon
Pepper – 1/2 Spoon
Cinamon – 2 stick
Cloves – 5
Dry roast every thing and allow it to cool
Step 2
Heat pan and heat oil
Add 1 handful of Kashmiri red chilli
Add curry leaves
Add dry coconut – 4 Spoon
Fry well until it turns crispy.
Add this to previous dry roaste items.
Add everything in Mixie jar
Add turmeric powder and hing
Powder it
Perfect Bisi bela bath powder / Huli anna powder is ready.
How to prepare Dal Palak?
Wash and cut Palak leaves into small pieces
Heat pan and heat oil
Add Mustered seeds, Udar dal, curry leaves, red chillies and hing
Add Palak leaves
Add turmeric powder and add water and cook for few minutes.
Add cooked Moong dal (1 cup)
Mix well
Now grind 4 spoon grated coconut, 4 Red chillies, cumin seeds. Add little water.
Add this coconut paste to palak moong
Give it a mix. Add salt.
Moong dal Palak / Keerai kootu is ready.
