Sooji or semolina Kichadi is my favorite breakfast recipe. In karnataka, people call this as “Kharabath”. Easy to make. Coconut chutney is a best side dish for this kichadi. This is my version of making rava kichadi.

Ingredients:
Cinnamon – 1 inch
Cloves – 4
Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
Garlic – 4 pods
Curry leaves – few
Onion – 1
Green chilli – 4
Tomato – 1
Carrot -1
Beans – 8
Potato – 1
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Sooji – 1 cup
Water – 3 cup

Method:
Heat a pan, add some oil, add cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds, smashed garlic pods, curry leaves, onion, green chillies and fry until it gets translucent. Add tomato and fry until it gets mushy. Add the veggies, salt and ¼ cup of water from the 3 cups of water, close the lid and cook for 2-3 minutes. Once the veggies are half way cooked, add the water, turmeric powder, bring it to a boil. Once the water is boiled add the roasted sooji slowly and mix everything together. Close the lid and cook for 2 mins on medium flame. Switch off the flame and let it rest for 2-3 minutes. Open the lid and Sooji Kichadi is ready.
