Hi Friend!
As I have gone on my weight loss journey I have slowly started to try and find replacement recipes for some of my favorites. I truly believe if you love something than you should still be able to enjoy it. Just because I like to eat healthy now does not mean that I don’t crave all of the things I used to love. I hope that you try these cinnamon rolls. They are so yummy. If you make them using the same ingredients and you make 12 cinnamon rolls they are 101 calories each. Enjoy!
Low Calorie Cinnamon Rolls
2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons unsweetened apple sauce
1/2-1 Cup Water
3 Tablespoons splenda brown sugar blend
3 tablespoons splenda brown sugar blend
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 Cup Non Fat plain Greek Yogurt
1/4 Cup Splenda
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly spray an 8×8 pan
Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and Splenda brown sugar. Once combined add the applesauce and water. Start with 1/2 cup and add more a little at a time until you reach a good dough consistency.
Sprinkle some whole wheat flour on a clean surface and press the dough out into a rectangle. Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the dough and gently press into the dough. Carefully roll up the dough and cut into 12 equal rolls. Place into your prepared pan and bake for 10-12 minutes. They will be slightly golden but still soft.
Let them cool a little and make the icing. Combine the yogurt, Splenda and vanilla. Spread over the rolls and enjoy.
