Enjoy ur morning breakfast or as a evening snack with this delicious and easy to make Methi Na Muthiya, a famous & traditional snack recipe from Gujarat.
Ingredients:
– 1 ½ cup of wheat flour
– 3 tbsp of gram flour
– ½ cup of suji (semolina)
-1 tsp roasted cumin powder
– 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
– 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
– 2- 3 tsp sugar
– 1 tsp ginger & chilli paste
– 1 tbsp roasted white sesame
– 1 tsp ajwain
– 2 tbsp oil
– pinch of Hing
– 1 tsp saunf (fennel seeds)
– 250 gms chopped Methi (Fenugreek leaves)
– salt to taste
– water to knead (can use curd too for kneading
For Tadka / Tempering :
– 2 tbsp Oil
– 1 tbsp Mustard Seeds
– 2 tbsp Sesame Seeds
– Few Curry leaves
– Fresh Chopped coriander leaves
– some salt to taste & 1 tsp of sugar
Method:
– Boil a pot of water and over it place the greased sieve on the top and cover it with a lid
– In a bowl mix together all the ingredients mentioned above.
– Apply oil to your palm and make a cylindrical roll of the dough and place it on the steamer and let it steam for 25 -30 mins.
– Let them cool down completely and then chop them into thin slices.
– Heat some oil, add mustard seeds, sesame seeds, curry leaves, then add the muthia’s and toss them up. Let them cook for 3-4 minutes garnish with some fresh coriander leaves, some salt n sugar. Methia Muthiya are ready to be served!
