Quick & Easy Steak Sandwich
Ingredients –Â
1 Tbsp (14g) – Unsalted Butter
1 tsp (5ml) – Olive OilÂ
1 – Brown (Yellow) Onion, Thinly Sliced
2 – Sirloin SteaksÂ
Sourdough or Bread of ChoiceÂ
Lettuce Mix, Rocket or CosÂ
Extra Virgin Olive OilÂ
Truffle Mustard Mayonnaise
Caramelised Onions
Seasoning To TasteÂ
Method –
Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper and drizzle with a bit of oil of choice. Place a pan over high heat and allow it to get smoking hot. Sear the steaks for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes on each side for medium rare. Remove and let rest for 6-7 minutes. Slice into thin strips.Â
Toast the bread you choose to your liking, either in a pan or a toaster. Dress the salad with olive oil and seasoning to taste.Â
Spread the toast with the steak sauce and divide the steak amongst the bread. Add the caramelised onions, cheese (optional), lettuce mix and top with more sauce. Close the sandwich with the other half of the toast and slice it in half. Serve and dig in.Â
