Healthy Adas/lentil soup eaten with bread in the Middle East.
1 1/2 cup of Red small lentils
8 cups water
1/2 cup onion
1 grated garlic clove
3/4 to 1 teaspoon cumin
3/4 to 1 teaspoon turmeric
3 chicken Maggie cubes
Toppings
parsley and lemon juice
After washing lentils, dump all ingredients in the pot. Cook on high heat until boil. Simmer for an hour. Top it with lemon juice and parsley. Dip bread into the soup and enjoy.
I found this recipe on food.com. It is tried and true, I have been making it for years and it is definitely a hit in my family especially during Ramadan days.
