Chicken nuggets are a popular and delicious snack or meal option. Here’s a basic recipe for making homemade chicken nuggets:
Ingredients:
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1 cup breadcrumbs (you can use panko breadcrumbs for extra crispiness)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
Cooking oil for frying (such as vegetable oil)
Instructions:
Prepare the Chicken:
Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces or nuggets.
Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and paprika if using. You can also add other seasonings like garlic powder or onion powder for more flavor.
Set up a Breading Station:
In one shallow dish, place the flour.
In another dish, beat the eggs.
In a third dish, put the breadcrumbs.
Bread the Chicken:
Take a piece of chicken and coat it with flour, shaking off any excess.
Dip it into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s well coated.
Roll the chicken in the breadcrumbs, pressing the breadcrumbs onto the chicken to adhere them. You can repeat the process for a thicker, crunchier coating.
Heat the Oil:
In a deep pan or skillet, add enough oil to submerge the chicken nuggets. Heat the oil to around 350-375°F (175-190°C).
Fry the Chicken Nuggets:
Carefully place the breaded chicken nuggets in the hot oil, a few at a time. Avoid overcrowding the pan, as it can lower the oil’s temperature and make the nuggets greasy.
Fry the nuggets for about 3-4 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
