KEFBAB / KOFTA KEBAB

I came across @abrakebabra_reviews video of Australia’s first KEFBAB from @bigmicksgrill and thought I NEED TO MAKE THIS!!! Middle Eastern families have been doing a version of this at home for a while which is basically a kofta and kebab combined.
This literally tastes like an authentic shawarma/kebab but with half the calories. Serve it up with some chips or salad make it a complete meal.
INGREDIENTS ⬇️
150g Extra Lean Beef Mince
1 x med sized Pitta Bread 75g (I used MEB Foods)
5 -7 grams of Shawarma Seasoning (or spice mix of your choice).
Shredded Iceberg Lettuce (I used around 25g)
Sliced onions (approx. 20g)
Sliced Tomatoes.
Hot Chilli Sauce (approx. 15ml)
Low Sugar BBQ Sauce (approx. 15ml)
METHOD
Combine spices and mince in a bowl and roll into a meatball. Press your meatball evenly onto the pita bread evenly so all edges of the pita are covered.
On a med high pan spray with olive oil and chuck your pita meat side down. Cook for 2 mins and place a lid over the pan. If your pita is dry this will help soften it.
Total cooking time should be no more than 5 mins. Flip your pita over carefully (the meat should be well stuck to the pita) and place over some foil. Add lettuce, onion tomatoes.
Wrap it like a kebab allow to steam for a min (this will ensure your pita won’t dry out and break).
Serve with chips or salad enjoy 😉
