10. Fried Egg with Sauteed Onion
In olive oil, saute on medium heat some sliced onion and other favorite healthy ingredients such as diced fresh tomato, sliced mushroom, fresh garlic, and herbs until soft. Salt and pepper and keep in a container in the fridge. Take 1/3 mixture out in the morning and heat up on a plate in microwave. Fry an egg or two and place on top. Great for the Paleo diet!!
9. Toast with toppings
To keep this breakfast healthy then stick with whole grain bread. Doesn’t have to be fancy just buy 100% whole wheat at your grocery store. It will keep you fuller for longer. You can top your toast with peanut butter, jam and softened butter, deli meat and mustard, boiled eggs or fried eggs, mascarpone or cream cheese. I picked avocado with olive oil salt and a squeeze of lime topped with a sliced boiled egg.
8. Scrambled Egg Jalapeno Popper:
Description: KETO LOVERS! Make scrambled eggs in a little butter and cook on low heat so you don’t dry them out. Right before they look done take off the heat and add some cheese to your liking. Salt and pepper. Mix and set aside. Half some jalapenos and clean out the seeds. Stuff the peppers with the cheesy scrambled egg and wrap 1/2 slice of bacon or a WHOLE slice might be better:) around the jalapeno and repeat until they are all wrapped. Bake the poppers at 400F for 20 minutes or until the bacon looks done. Do this ahead of time and you can pop them in the oven in the morning while you’re getting ready for work.
NOTE: I did not measure anything but scrambled two eggs which made enough for about 6 poppers.
7. Soup
Might sound boring but a nice bowl of hot soup served with some whole wheat toast or pita bread in the morning is a great start for the day. Just make sure your soup is fairly healthy and not New England Clam Chowder every morning 🙂
6. Smoothie bowl
I would rather eat a smoothie this way vs. drink it out of a cup. There’s something about eating it out of bowl that seems more filling. I blend 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt with 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries (add a little water to blend easier) and then a TBS or so of honey. Pour in a bowl and top with
granola, nuts, and a banana!
5. Oatmeal
I did not provide a video for oatmeal because I think we all know what it looks like and can follow the directions on the back of the box! I like to add a little maple syrup and cinnamon to mine topped with a banana!
4. Breakfast enchiladas!
Description: GREAT TO MAKE ON A SUNDAY THEN HEAT ONE UP IN THE MICROWAVE IN THE MORNINGS DURING THE WEEK! Followed this recipe:
3. Omelet
If you like the simple things in life then consider this for breakfast. Eggs cooked in butter speak for themselves.
2. Granola cereal
I make a homemade granola and store it in a container. When I need a quick breakfast I just pour 1/2 cup of granola in a bowl, pour 1/2 cup of milk over it and top with half a banana. EASY PEASY! Here’s the recipe I follow for granola:
1. Rice cakes/graham crackers with peanut butter and banana on top
A seriously cheap breakfast especially if you’re living somewhere without access to a stove or traveling and on the go. I like to spread almond butter on top of a graham cracker if I’m craving a sweet snack at night.
