All right like many of you coming into the new year I do have some kind of health goals for myself so I thought today I would just bring yall along and show you what I eat throughout the day so before we get started a little bit about my health Journey I’m going on
This year basically I’m just tracking calories and protein of course doing workouts and extra things like that but for this video that’s what I’m going to be talking about another challenge that I’m always kind of faced with when I’m wanting to lose a little bit of weight
Is how am I going to do this as a mom who cooks dinner who has a cooking YouTube channel and y’all I finally figured that out so I’m going to let you in on that secret here in just a little bit but let me show you what I’m going to eat all day
Long so of course starting off in the morning I got to have my coffee and honestly y’all I have started to drink black coffee about 90% of the time so so there’s nothing real fancy there of course that’s zero calories but when I do want some creamer I tend to just work
A normal creamer into my day I don’t prefer like the sugarfree on so this is just some great value French vanilla creamer I did have some of this today and I already logged that for the day so typically I don’t really eat breakfast for one I’m just not really hungry in
The mornings I’m not a person who craves breakfast or just kind of wants to eat a soon as I wake up so usually I just kind of fast until lunch technically I’m not fasting if I have that creamer like today but normally my first meal is at
Lunchtime so I’m going to show you one of my favorite things I eat this all the time it’s so good and it’s so filling I love these Joseph’s lavage bread it has flax oat whole wheat in there but honestly y’all I’m going to use it as a
Thin crust pizza crust so you can see how big this is you’ll see it in just a second when I take it out but for half of one of these is 60 calories you can have a whole thing or in my eyes an entire pizza crust for only 120 calories
And this has 6 g of protein for half 12 Gams of protein for the whole thing so I’m going to be making just a traditional kind of pepperoni pizza this is what I crave but also I had an idea today that you could do like a chicken
Bacon wrench Pizza that would also be really good even a lot more protein if you added something like chicken on here so here’s my crust you can pop this in the oven to kind of crisp it up for a minute or two either way it’s fine for
My sauce of course I’m going in with some Ros pizza sauce so you can actually have a four of a cup of this sauce for only 45 calories spread our sauce out onto our little flatbread pizza crust and I will tell y’all my favorite pizza sauce y’all know I love Ros but it’s
Actually food line I don’t know something about it I love the texture of it it’s really smooth and the calories and everything are really good on it as well but today we have Ros so that’s what we’re using next up we have to have some mozzarella cheese Mozzarella cheese
Is pretty low in calorie anyway you can have half a cup for 160 calories so I like to just go ahead and measure out half a cup and that way I’ll know exactly how much I have to spread on my pizza and by the way I’m
Only going to eat half of this pizza today you can have the whole entire thing like I said for low calories but I think I’m just going to go with half today so Darren and I are going to split this if you’re wondering what I’m going
To do with the other half next up for a little added protein and you got to have pepperoni on a pizza I like to use the turkey pepperoni it’s the horal brand so I typically use about eight pepperonis might add 10 today and last lastly I
Like to just top it with a little bit of Parmesan cheese you can have two teaspoons of this for only 20 calories and it just adds a little something I feel like pretty sure everybody knows how to make pizza it’s kind of self-explanatory my whole thing is when
I’m trying to eat a little bit healthier or watch my calories I feel like there is always a way to pretty much make anything that you would normally have for anything that you’re craving low calorie now this is just going into an oven at 400 for anywhere between 8 to 10
Minutes until that crust starts to crisp up a little bit so to go along with our pizza today I love to do zucchini pretty much any vegetable for that matter in the air fryer I am just slicing it half down the middle and then I’m going to
Cut it into probably half an inch little Moon shapes I guess you could say and I have my air fryer basket over here beside me I’m just going to pop my zucchini right in here next I just have some olive spray I’m going to give it
Just a light little spray and you can season these up however you want to I’m just going to do a little salt and a little black pepper and I’m going to pop these in the air fryer probably at 400 four 5 minutes or until our pizza is done another thing
You got to have with pizza now there are many ranches out there on the market that are low calorie I do like the bolt house farms one it is much low calorie than this however ever I believe in having what you really want maybe just
Having less of it so I have my little kitchen scale here it is super old you can’t even hardly see the little labels or anything have my ramkin on there and I know I can have about an ounz of this for only about 60 calories so it’s
Really not that bad tiny bit over but that’s not going to really make a big difference in the grand scheme of calories and now I have my wrench to put on the side all righty y’all here is our pizza straight out of the oven tell me
That does not look delicious I like to just cut mine in kind of little strip slices just like this last but not least we have our zucchini that we cooked up in the air fryer all right y’all I don’t know about you but that looks like a delicious and
Perfectly balanced lunch to me like I said I’ll have everything on the screen but it’s time to go eat so we’re actually going to go ahead and start working on our dinner for tonight and we’re going to be making some Greek chicken bowls these are super delicious
Full of fresh ingredients but also super filling and this recipe is actually in my cookbook repeat worthy dinners there is tons of dinner ideas in here but that’s what we’re making tonight so we’re going to go ahead and get our chicken marinating all right so I just
Have two chicken breasts in a bowl right here and to that I’m going to look at my ingredients we’re going to add 1/4 cup of olive oil we have two garlic garlic cloves minced we also have 2 tbspoon of fresh lemon juice and then a whole bunch of
Spices we have dried oregano paprika cumin coriander and salt and pepper just going to sprinkle that on and this is just going to continue to marinate I’m going to pop a cover on it pop it in the fridge and it will hang out in the fridge until dinner time and all we’ll
Do is cook this in the air fryer we’re also going to go ahead and make our tziki sauce for our Greek bowls tonight now a traditional tziki Bowl starts with Greek yogurt however I’m not a huge fan of Greek yogurt so I substitute sour cream and I do note that in my cookbook
As well but we’re just going to start with 1 and 1/2 cup and this doesn’t have to be perfect so we’re just going to eyeball this part next we’re going to add in this is about 1 cup of shredded cucumber we’re also going in with some fresh
Deal we have 1 tbspoon of fresh lemon juice and then just a tin tiny pinch of salt and a pinch of black pepper should got a bigger bowl I told Darren to get me out a bigger bowl I didn’t he told me I needed a bigger bowl we’re going to
Give this a stir I love to zigi Sauce like I said I know this isn’t technically traditional with the sour cream but it is still really really good makes a perfect dressing for our Greek bowls all right it is a little bit before 4:00 and this is one of my
Alltime favorite snacks I’m addicted to any kind of bagged popcorn I really love skinny pop of course it’s like the OG but there’s one out now called lesser evil I don’t have any right now at my house but um you can only find it or I
Can only find it at Walmart right yeah Walmart so it’s really good but this is what I have super great snack you can have three and 34 cup for only 150 calories so that is awesome that is a good bit of popcorn I just measure mine
Out on a little paper plate and this is going to be my snack so right now I am going to take one of my daughters to one of their activities and I love to have a protein coffee in the afternoons so one of my favorite ways to do that is to use
A Premier Protein and I just use some coffee that I go ahead and Brew earlier in the day and I’ll just cover that and pop it in the fridge so it can be nice and cold pour in my protein shake this one is a Premiere it’s the cake batter
Flavor has 160 calories and about 30 g of protein which is awesome my coffee give it a good stir and I’ll sip on this while I run everywhere all right we are home now I’m about to start making our jasmine rice to go along with those Greek chicken bowls but I’m going to

I have figured out how to work in my health journey and trying to lose a little bit of weight while still making family dinners and having a cooking YouTube channel one of the things I felt like held me back well two things actually one is just being a mom and you
Know having to cook for your family and so it’s kind of difficult when you have a busy schedule busy lives running kids everywhere responsible for all different kinds of things and have to worry about cooking what you can eat plus you know what your family wants to eat but y’all
The secret I have figured out it’s actually not a secret and that is just to really look at the dinners we’re eating at the end of the day even if I’m making kind of an extravagant more I don’t know indulgent dinner at the most it would be 600 calories for a portion
And I guarantee if you go and look at any of your favorite dinner recipes they’re probably four or 500 calories that’s really not that much when you think of a whole entire day if I’m doing good the rest of the day and I have this meal that’s just maybe a little bit more
Dense in calories it’s super easy to work around that and honestly I think I was kind of almost using that as an excuse in a way um and the same kind of goes for having a YouTube channel as well I’m like how am I going to lose
Weight right and make all of these like casseres and pot pies and all these Southern dishes that y’all are used to me making and try to get myself healthy kind of almost the same as making separate meals for your kids when you’re trying to lose weight it’s like for
YouTube I would make certain things that I thought you know my viewers wanted to see and that would do well on YouTube but those recipes aren’t always the same necessarily as what I’m going to eat the majority of the time to lose weight I’m making five recipes probably Max a week
For my YouTube channel that is five meals if I choose to eat what I’m cooking five meals out of the week so imagine all of the other breakfasts lunches snacks all of that to add up five meals really isn’t going to make that much difference difference
Especially if you only have you know a small portion so I don’t know if that helps anybody like I said for the longest time I really didn’t think about it in that way and once I did it just seems a whole lot easier and a little
Bit more attainable all right I have all of our strawberries sliced up so you can use any type of sugar-free Jell-O Mix this one just happens to be the starburst it’s a sugar-free cherry jello mix sprinkle on I may not use this whole Little Packet cuz I feel like it’s kind
Of a lot so I’m going to do about half of this packet but we’re just going to have these as just a little strawberry snack and the longer they sit the sweeter and the better they will get there we go this is just a little snack I don’t know that I’m going to
Have any of these today but I wanted to make them for when I do want some all right here’s our chicken breast we’ve had it marinating for a little bit and we’re just going to pop those in the air fryer we’re going to preheat the air fryer to
375 we’re going to cook them about 8 minutes on one side flip into another 8 to 10 minutes until our chicken breasts are 165 all right our chicken is nice and cooked you can see how juicy it’s still is right out of the air fryer with
A little bit of kind of crispy edges this is what we love to add on salads our Greek bowls anything like that this is going to be so good all right let’s start building our Greek Bowl I just have a little bit of jasmine rice kind
Of for our base we added some of our grilled chicken we’re going to add some chopped English cucumbers to our Bowl we have a little bit of chopped roma tomato we have some chopped Red Onion this is actually some diced red onion we already had this in the fridge and my
Favorite part some calamada olives here is that delicious tziki sauce look how good this looks y’all oh my gosh this is so fr fresh smells so good you could put this on about anything and make it delicious going to place some of it right here on our Bowl as
Well and last but not least some crumbled feta right over top who said that counting calories and eating healthy had to be Bland and boring this looks so good here’s a closeup of our Greek bowls y’all these are so so good I hope you’ll give them a try and just
