The link posted in my description box below all right so let’s get into it so the first thing that I wish I would have known known before starting my weight loss journey and I’m talking even from years ago is that the number on the scale isn’t everything oh how I wish I

Would have realized this much much sooner often times we obsess over this number on the scale I know I was guilty of that in the past you know weighing every single day finding myself really consumed by whatever that number was telling me and in fact so much so I

Don’t even weigh myself all the time anymore now there’s a lot of different schools of thought behind this Some people prefer to weigh every single day some do it once a week once a month some don’t weigh enough you know there’s lots of different ways that we can do this

For myself I found that the sweet spot is just kind of once every couple of weeks or every 3 weeks or so I’ll hop on the scale just to kind of make sure that I’m still going in the right direction that I you know haven’t gained any I’m

Okay if even I’m the same weight or if I’ve lost more but I definitely don’t want to see the scale go up doing it like that has relieved a lot of unnecessary pressure that I used to put on myself and I don’t know about you

Guys but for me when I didn’t like the number on the scale that could actually be the reason that I would throw in the towel because I would feel you know a bit defeated like everything that I’m doing is not working so what’s the point and unfortunately human nature is that

We want everything super fast immediate and especially when it comes to weight loss we feel that way anyway so for me weighing myself every day was not the answer but whether it is your thing to weigh every day or once a week or like me just kind of sporadically here’s some

Stuff that you might want to keep in mind that I really wish I would have realized sooner so while the number on the scale is some important data that does help us on a weight loss Journey something to keep in mind is that it’s just generalized data and what I mean by

That is that it just doesn’t tell us the whole picture now I’m just talking about you know your basic scale I have a digital scale nothing too fancy I know that they have some top-of-the-line scales that will break down every last little bit of information for you I

Don’t have one of those and I’m going to guess that the average person probably doesn’t have that so I’m not talking about those skills I’m just talking about your average normal household scale if you’re using one of those scales and it’s definitely not showing you the whole picture like for example

How much is Fat Loss how much is muscle loss did you know that that number on the scale doesn’t always reflect fat loss that in fact that number on the scale could be going down but it’s actually your muscle that’s deteriorating and not that you’ve actually lost fat and side note That’s

Not healthy wanted especially if you’re anywhere near my age bracket or older that number on the scale can also go up if you’ve just consumed too much salt the day before then you’re going to be retaining more fluids in your body which can make that number go up or for us

Ladies if it’s that time of the month or for any of us if we’re even constipated that number can be higher I used to give so much importance to that number on the scale but after realizing that that number can fluctuate for so many other reasons other than WEA whether or not

You’ve actually gained fat or lost fat that was mind-blowing to me and so for now I just use that number on the scale more as kind of like a guideline that I am going in the right direction as far as my fat loss goes I check in with it

From time to time because I do believe that checking in is important you don’t want to just not weigh yourself at all because absolutely it can help to make sure that things are progressing the way that you want them to but for me obsessing over it from day to day

Knowing how many different uctuations can happen for so many reasons other than actual fat loss it just seems a little bit redundant for me at that point so for me now I understand that that number is only reflecting a piece of what is going on with me what I like

To focus on now is how my clothes are fitting you know I’ve dropped several pants sizes since starting this weight loss Journey that feels more fantastic than any number on the scale for me could my body is healing I’m feeling better my energy is up I feel in higher

Spirits these are all things that often we don’t give enough credit to we don’t even pay attention to that because we’re so hyperfocused on a number on a scale so for me I wish I would have known that that number you know it helps us a little bit but it’s definitely not the

Full picture and definitely not something that I even give that much attention to anymore all right so I’m going to move on to the second thing that I wish I would have known at the beginning of my weight loss journey and that is that you are not automatically

Happier and that life doesn’t just become euphoric perfect just because you’re smaller all right so I’m just going to be candid here for a second and share how much I truly believed that being smaller was the one key to my happiness that if I could only have that

That all would be well in my world I would just be you know floating daytoday on cloud n and nothing could affect me in this euphoric state that I swore I would be in if only I was smaller I know that there’s got to be some of you that

Are also feeling that way right right now that if only you could get this weight off if only you could be a smaller version of who you are today that your life would just be amazing well let me share something with you that is one of the biggest lies that we

Tell ourselves and I know some of you might be saying to yourself that doesn’t apply to me this girl does not know what she’s talking about that’s all I need so let me explain something to you after you lose the weight sometimes it can actually become even more mentally

Taxing trying to understand and love this new body that you’re in see there’s another part of weight loss that is not glamorized there’s another part of weight loss that is not really even talked about a lot when it comes to weight loss we just think skinnier prettier new clothes you know feeling

More attractive being more attractive we just focus on all the positive aspects that we perceive weight loss to have but unfortunately no one really glamorizes stretch marks loose skin deflated lady Parts you know body dysmorphia these are all real issues that can come along with weight loss it’s actually kind of weird

Because on one hand you’re in the smaller body which you know for most of us that’s a good thing but then on the other hand you can find yourself being super critical of all these other new changes that are coming as a side effect to the weight loss if I’m being honest

Sometimes it’s harder to not see all the imperfections than even when I was bigger and the other thing is too people become a lot more interested and consumed by this weight loss journey of yours and you feel that pressure because you know that people are watching like

You know oh is she getting smaller is she getting too small has she gained weight you know you’ve got all eyes on you whereas when you were bigger you might have felt like you had all eyes on you when really in fact there wasn’t or

At least not in the way that we thought there was and of course it’s not to put a damper on losing weight because of course there’s amazing things that come along with a weight loss Journey when you find yourself in a much smaller body than where you started but my point was

Just to highlight some things that often aren’t talked about or glamorized and they real issues that we deal with as your body is changing so there is no final stop there is no Final Destination we are always going to be a work in progress so just try your best to love

Yourself from day one right on through the Journey right on to the end so I hate to break it too but you don’t automatically just get happier because you’re smaller so you might as well start being happy now all right so that brings me to the third thing that I wish

I would have knew before starting my weight loss journey and that is that what whatever we did to lose the weight is what we are signing up forever to keep it off and this one is a big one why because this differentiates a diet versus a lifestyle so many times in the

Past I was willing to do whatever just to get the weight off you know all these crash diets it didn’t matter if it you know required starving myself or eating only one type of food or eating foods that I didn’t like like it really didn’t matter because I was just so desperate

At times to get smaller but when you do this when you have this type of rushed mentality about losing weight the joke is actually on you because whatever you’re doing to lose the weight is what you actually have to keep doing even after you’ve lost the weight I talk

About this so much on my Channel about how you have to love your food you have to love your lifestyle that you’re creating for yourself and if you don’t you’re going to throw in the towel it’s just not sustainable oh how I wish that that would have made sense to me more

Before you know that it just would have clicked because now I’ve created a healthy system that works for me you know I figured out finally what my favorite foods are the things that I enjoy the most that I actually look forward to I’m not choking down my food

Or eating a certain way because someone told me to eat this way or because I’m trying to copy somebody else to get the weight off I finally figured out what works for me and this is something that is sustainable when you like your food when you like your exercise when you

Like your yourself it’s easy to just keep doing those things and then eventually just turns into your new way of being your new lifestyle but if you hate your food you hate your exercise you hate yourself it literally is just a matter of time before you can only take

It so much and you throw in the towel so please I really encourage you to find something that’s enjoyable to you because it’s 100% possible there are so many wonderful recipes out there I love my fiber protein shakes I love my green smoothies I love my huge salad I love my

Starches I don’t subscribe to eating food anymore that I genuinely don’t care for and because of that eating has become enjoyable for me and trust me when I say that is the only way that you will be able to sustain doing what you’re doing long enough to be able to
