Hey everyone welcome back to my YouTube channel my name is roxan the tiny taster and today’s recipe is really simple overnight oats now I love overnight oats I think they’re easy to make they’re no fast um it doesn’t take any time in the morning because I’ve made them the night before
They’re also really healthy I feel like oats keeps me nice and full and then I can embellish it and add more fruit to it and toppings I can make it Savory or sweet so I’ve just shown you a few ways of how I like to make this it’s easy um
No fuss really and I really hope you enjoy it so without any further Ado let’s get cooking for this recipe you really need to use rolled oats there are two types of Oats I’m using these by Quaker you could use any rolled oats they’re flattened and um they look like
This they’re easy they will cook overnight the other kind of Oats are steel cut oats which are meant to be healthier like this but you have to cook steel cut oats on a flame uh it has to be cooked properly it will not cook overnight so make sure you use rolled
Oats this recipe is fairly easy I’ve actually eyeballed most things so in a bowl I’m adding about 2 to 3 tbspoon of rolled oats you could add more or less depending on how much you eat but keep in mind that this puffs up so I think 2
To three teaspoon uh tablespoon sorry is plenty I like to add a lot of nuts and seeds to my oats so I will add in some chopped walnut you can add as little or as much as you like of everything some chopped almonds along with flax seeds I
Love flax seeds they’re also really good for you I do use this as a topping or a garnish as well but I like to mix it in with my oats to this I add a mixture of sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds I basically add whatever I have on hand
And these are my usual go-to mixes so I just add those now to sweeten the oats I add about a teaspoon or two of honey this packet is just measured out so I’ve squeezed it into the oats um I add honey for a little bit of sweetness because I
Don’t like it plain but if you’re trying to go no sugar and keep this super healthy then you can skip the honey this bowl is almost ready the last thing you need is milk I’m using this lactose free milk from amul just because I had it and I actually like the taste
Of this it has a slight tinge of sweetness I don’t know how healthy or unhealthy this is to be honest um but I’m using it since I have it you could use any milk you like you could even use an oat milk or a nut milk if that’s your
Preference um or even just regular full milk I’ve used the whole bottle of this lactose free milk but I would say about 2 to three cups of milk is essential because you want to soak the oats completely as it will absorb overnight it’ll soak up all this milk and it tends
To get dry and you don’t want that so make sure there’s enough milk and just mix it all together and this is really my first oat bowl I’m going to show you a second one with a slight change so I’m repeating the process for my second oat
Bowl again I’ve added 2 to three tablespoons of rolled oats to my oats I’ll add in my choice of nuts I’ve gone with the same chopped walnut chopped almond flax seeds along with pumpkin seeds and um I think it’s sunflower seeds yes that’s right again some honey for
Sweetness and now what I’ve done to this bowl is I’ve added in about a teaspoon or two of cocoa powder or chocolate powder it just adds a really nice flavor especially if you like chocolate milk and to this again I will add in my milk I’ve added in this lactose free milk
Again just because I had it and it’s my choice but please any milk is fine and now make sure when you’re mixing this all together it might take a little a little bit of a while to mix through but you don’t want any clumps or lumps of
This um cocoa powder my cocoa powder I think was a little bit dry so it got clumpy and it took a little bit longer to mix it through but it’s perfectly all right it just adds a nice chocolatey cocoa Flavor now I’ve added both bowls into the fridge overnight this is what
They look like in the morning post 8 to 10 hours as you can see this is the first Bowl it has soaked up most of the liquid this is the second one it’s gotten so study almost like a clumpy pudding um and you could keep it like
This uh it’s perfectly fine but like I mentioned earlier since it soaks up so much milk you need to add enough milk so it doesn’t dry out and it’s not uncooked um I like to add a little bit more milk at this stage um just to loosen it up
Because I don’t want it too thick or clumpy at this point I’ve used regular milk it’s perfectly all right and I just mix it up together so that it mixes well and it’s not clumpy and now this is the best part the most fun part it’s
Garnishing your bowl and I like to add chopped fruits on top now you might wonder why I didn’t just add the fruits into the whole mix uh some recipes do that and it’s perfectly all right but I think the fruits get soggy and it just loses its luster and also its texture so
I like to cut my fruit and add it in the morning after the bowl has been soaked cooking so for this I didn’t do anything fancy I just used strawberry and banana I love strawberry it’s in seasoned right now so I’m making the most of it and
Banana is my go-to if I’m being completely honest um it’s just the easiest to have and it gives me a nice kick in the morning also fruit adds sweetness for sure so if this is too sweet for you you can eliminate the honey the choice is entirely yours it
Doesn’t matter one way or another now now just to give it a Twist and be a little different to the Bowl that’s plain and has no cocoa I’m adding in a dollop of this Cherry Jam that I got from my trip to Turkey it was a luscious
Jam I couldn’t resist um and again the jam is super sweet it’s got nice little chunks of Cherry in it so again you can skip the honey you can add the honey you can do whatever you want this is really such a non recipe I just put in about a
Tablespoon or so that’s enough for me and a little bit more fruit and that’s really my bowl like I mentioned earlier I top it off with a Sprinkle of some flax seeds as well it’s like another garnish you can add Moringa Seeds basil seeds chia seeds whatever you like there
Is no hard and fast rule you can add whatever fruit apples are great oranges work uh peaches pears whatever it’s just such a fun thing and this is a really really filling breakfast um I think really enjoy it actually so I hope you’ve enjoyed this I hope it’s easy and
No fuss and it’s a nice alternative for whatever else you’re eating at breakfast especially if you want to skip the eggs and this gives you a lot of energy and it’s super high power so it’s great hope you enjoy this as always don’t forget to like share comment and subscribe and I
Will see you guys very very soon
