Salaam (peace) how are you all? I hope you all are well. Today’s vlog is the second and last blog of the preparation for Ramadan. In this vlog, whatever preparation I had to do for Ramadan has been finished, Alhamdulillah. It is said that Ramadan is 1% about food and
Remaining 99 is about being closer to God. In order to work on our spiritual development, we need to ensure we get the food prep out of the way. I want to spend the least amount of time worrying about food.
In order to assist with that, i created a 30 day meal calendar for ramadan in Canva, which I will Share with you later in this vlog 🙂 I will print it out and stick it on my fridge so that Everyone in the family will also know what to expect for Iftar.
The fried items such as Fritters, or Spring rolls, or Samosas are prepared every day anyway, but the main meal will change every day as usual. I started this vlog with a trip to Ikea because My son wanted a night light for his studies.
I had already placed an order two days ago from Ikea and purchased some crockery which i can show you here. I ordered this bowl As well as this glass one. You can bake in both of them. I also ordered two sets of these small dessert bowls.
I grabbed another one of these containers for cereal. Look at these cute ice cube trays. I grabbed the yellow as well the blue one. The blue one will be reserved for freezing garlic and ginger paste
I love visiting Ikea and being inspired by how they manage to make such small spaces functional and beautiful. Now i will also go to a grocery store to buy the remaining groceries. This store, Dynamite hold alot of special memories for me. Me and my older sister would visit this store often.
Many years ago we used to visit this mall so often. And then at one point i suffered from severe anxiety So much so that I could not even go to the coffee shop by my house. How times change :). This is Mini sou, my older daughters favourite store.
She has grown up but she still loves such stores. The weather is gorgeous today. It is 8 degrees outside. Zari wanted to take off her jacket as well 🙂 That is a movie theatre which I have not visited in years.
I cannot watch a movie at home either because i cant sit still for a few hours. This is the area where I used to work at a law firm. This place holds a lot of memories for me. My office building is right around the corner.

I took out all the plastic bags and placed these bowls i frequently reach for in my daily use. Also placed the ninja blander system accessories here for easy access. Now its time for the second drawer.
I took out the bread loaf pans and will place them in the drawer above it. Here i decided to keep the red baking dish set. Now the third drawer. Theres some exrea knives and parchment paper, foil paper and cling wrap. Now its the first last drawer.
I have all my cutlery and rolling pin here. I cleaned it and placed all the items back. This is where i store my spice jars. I reuse glass containers that i buy as groceries. That is why all the containers are not the same size and shape.
In this area i decided to place two lazy suzans so i can easily access all the containers. This is an ikea book shelf that I have placed in the kitchen to use as a pantry. I placed a small plant here to add some greenery 🙂
I also freeze ice cubes in advance for ramadan to use in smoothies or drinks for breaking the fast. In this house we dont have the automatic ice maker in the freezer so i have to prepare them in advance. The ikea ice cube tray made such pretty ice cubes 🙂
And after that for the chutney which is made every day. Catch everyone with samosas or spring rolls. Everyone at home likes it very much, so I have blended this coriander and mint and then I will freeze it and then I will store its ice cubes
And in the same tray, I will also freeze garlic and ginger, so now this After this, I will not use it for ice cubes because I feel that whatever you do with it, its taste does not change even though it is silicone but still maybe it
