Fresh tropical fruit and deliciously simple to make, this fruit salad is the old-fashioned recipe. Only four fruit, Pineapple, Mango, Pawpaw (Papaya) and Plantains (Banana) are used in the classic recipe due to their abundant availability in the island (at least back then), similar textures and graduated colors (white banana, light yellow pineapple, orange mango, darker orange-red papaya) that make the fruit salad very appealing to the eyes. A simple syrup of vanilla, lime juice, sugar and water complete the dessert. It is almost always served with vanilla ice cream or in a more casual home environment this fruit salad is served with condensed milk.

Enjoy!
