Phodni Bhaat |Simple and Delicious Pulav Recipe |Quick Pulav Recipe from leftover rice | Lunchbox Recipe
Ingredients
: 1 cup cooked or leftover rice
: 1 tsp Goda masala
: Salt as per taste ( I used 1/2 tsp salt)
: 3tbsps oil
: 1 tsp cumin seeds
: 10-15 curry leaves
: 2 green chilies slit lengthwise
: 2 medium sized onions finely chopped
: 1 medium sized potato chopped into cubes
: Salt as per taste while cooking potatoes (I used 1/4th tsp salt)
: 1/2 cup frozen green peas
: 1/4th tsp sugar
: 1tbsp fresh coriander finely chopped
: 1tbsp fresh grated coconut (or powdered coconut)
Steps
: First add goda masala and salt to cooked or leftover rice, mix well with your hands and keep it aside.
: Now heat up oil in a kadhai to a high flame. Once the oil is hot, lower the flame and add cumin seeds. Once the cumin seeds are done popping, add curry leaves, green chilies and give it a quick stir.
:Then add finely chopped onions. Saute onions for a minute or two before adding chopped potatoes.
: Let the onions and potatoes cook for around 3-4 minutes until the potatoes turn soft when a knife is pierced through it.
: Now add rice and combine everything well. Add a little sugar and mix again.
: After about a minute or two, turn off the flame and garnish phodni bhaat with some fresh coriander and fresh grated or powdered coconut.
: Phodni bhaat is all ready to be served.
