Yours in heart health,

hey it’s Veronica the heart dietician thanks for tuning in to see what the secret ingredient for this recipe is this plays off a recipe that I posted maybe two months ago and it was a banana bread made with the same secret ingredient so I’ll link that here if you’re interested any hints the secret ingredient is drum roll ricotta cheese so ricotta cheese falls into the Mediterranean style of eating as well as the dash style of eating because it is a lowfat cheese and it being a cheese it’s high in calcium and magnesium which really helps with supporting our muscle and blood vessel health and remember our heart is a muscle so magnesium and calcium are great for Contracting and relaxing our blood vessels that help our blood flow through as well as Contracting and relaxing our heart muscle which helps push all the blood through so I think it’s a really nice addition to Bak Goods it adds like a nice moist fluffy texture as well so if you liked the banana bread recipe made with ricotta I’m sure you’re going to love this banana muffin recipe made with ricotta feel free to adjust this recipe as you like I used milk cow’s milk here but you could use any plant-based milk that’s fine I used eggs here but you can switch those out to flax eggs if you wanted as well that adds a little bit more omega-3 Rich fatty acids and as always if you like it please let me know in the comments below like subscribe I upload new videos weekly and for the full recipe check out my website the heart dietician docomo Muffins with me the heart dietician you’re going to start with some oil I prefer canola oil when baking then mix in some eggs you can use flax eggs if you’re not eating eggs then add in the milk any milk would work here whisk it very very well and you can add some vanilla extract for extra flavor here comes a secret ingredient that ricotta cheese for extra protein and then a very ripe banana to help with the sweetness and texture then comes the traditional baking ingredients like baking powder and sugar and salt add some some cinnamon for some flavor don’t forget the flour allpurpose flour is fine then you’ll mix the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients together mix mix mix add in some nice chocolate chips or some dried fruit you could do raisins or crayon raisins here for extra flavor you bake it in the oven at 350° for about 25 minutes and enjoy
