hey guys i am so excited to announce it is vacation week the entire what’s up mom’s family is heading to aulani which is an amazing disney resort in hawaii we’re going to be posting videos every day including a music parody that we are filming on location and today i am kicking things off with tips for travel snacks i’m meg and i’m passionate about finding ways to make life with kids easier in the kitchen use frozen grapes or freeze tubes of yogurt to use as ice packs not only will your food stay fresh but frozen grapes and frozen yogurt are delicious use snack size bags for portion control that way your kids aren’t overeating and you’re not leaving a half uneaten bag of pretzels on the plane also with all their space you’re saving you can really pack a variety of snacks mix familiar and unfamiliar food to keep your kids interested there’s two jobs that a travel snack has it’s one to nourish your kids and two to keep your kids entertained and a variety of foods can help do that i really like different string cheeses they can be unrefrigerated for a few hours individual granola bars are homemade muffins nothing like a homemade muffin different oh cereals and what’s really great about these is when the kids are done eating them you can pack a string in there and then they can play a game and string the o’s veggies and hummus as long as your hummus is underneath the ounce limit and finally sandwiches peanut butter jelly turkey sandwiches things like that are really great for keeping your kids nourished and i like to pack them in a disposable tupperware that way they don’t get smushed your bag is always getting smushed in the plane pack healthy snacks in your kids carry-on bags and keep the treats in yours that way your kids can help themselves to their own snacks and have to ask you for the treats pack food for your turn trip otherwise you’re going to be stuck paying airline prices for airline food what i like to do is pack a little tupperware container inside my checked luggage that has all refills and everything and i pack a couple new things in there for the kids to keep them surprised make sure your kids can open their own food because your hands will likely be full pack a plastic bag for trash and sanitizing wipes for your hands there are germs everywhere on the plane and you want to keep everything clean brick is sanitizing the plane buy a souvenir treat while you’re on vacation and that way you can give it to the kids on the plane on the way home it’s something memorable and it’s something sweet all right my final tip is don’t forget mom and dad i can’t tell you how many trips i’ve been on that i’ve gotten on the plane and realized i’m gonna be starving unless i eat my kids food so it’s a great way to use up leftovers before you leave on vacation get everything out of your fridge and have something really healthy and delicious to eat on the plane so i hope these travel snack tips help you guys on your next trip i am so excited to be leaving for hawaii tune in all week for more from our adventures at alani thanks for watching guys you
