Looking for a delicious low-carb dessert you can make for the holidays or other special occasions? Look no further than this orange pomegranate cream cheese tart. Discover more about the pure essential oil used to give this recipe its delectable flavor here:

Keto and low-carb recipes are super popular right now… but what can you serve for dessert on special occasions such as the holidays? This pomegranate dessert recipe fits the bill. It’s beautiful to look at, tastes delicious, and is made with low-carb ingredients.

The base (crust) of this pomegranate pie recipe is made with almond flour, flaxseed meal, and shredded coconut with Lakanto for a touch of sweetness. These are all far lower in carbs than wheat flour and sugar.

Meanwhile, the filling of this keto pomegranate cheesecake is made with cream cheese, coconut cream, and Lakanto. Again, all lower-carb ingredients than those used in most conventional desserts.

Pretty red pomegranate arils (the little juicy seeds that you eat) add a beautiful festive feeling to this pomegranate tart. You can garnish with as few or as many as desired depending on how strictly low carb you’re looking to be. Pomegranate arils contain around 16 grams of carbs per 1/2 cup serving.

The orange flaor in this pomegranate orange tart comes from orange essential oil. Orange essential oil is made from the peel of the common fruit. It is high in antioxidants and is a popular oil for cooking, cleaning, and aromatherapy. Only a few drops gives all the orange flavor – without the carbs of orange juice.

When cooking with essential oils only use the highest grade of oils that are food grade or are intended to be taken internally. Many oils on the market are “fragrance” oils which do not provide the health benefits of pure essential oils. Learn how to know if your essential oils are really 100% pure here:

While this pomegranate cheesecake has a few more ingredients than our usual simple healthy recipes, Katrina shows in the video just how easy it is to make.
