A&Z #787 – Atlas vs the Vietnamese Juicy Lucy Burger Challenge at Chops Old Quarter in Hanoi, Vietnam. Back in mid-October 2019, my younger sister Shelley and I flew to Seoul, South Korea to kick-off a 3-country Asia trip, and then we headed to Hanoi, Vietnam for three delicious food challenges. For event #2, we traveled to the Old Quarter location of Chops in Hanoi, Vietnam. There, I attempted their popular Vietnamese Juicy Lucy Burger Challenge. I had just 20 short minutes to finish 3 delicious Juicy Lucy burgers stacked and layered with bacon, more cheese, and healthy vegetables, and served with a double portion of chips covered with a truffle mayonnaise. I also had to finish a 500 mL IPA beer. I really wanted to win another sweet T-shirt!! BIG thanks to the staff at Chops for their wonderful food and hospitality, and to all our Vietnamese friends watching videos and supporting our efforts!! There will be one more Vietnam food challenge video posted next week to end 2019, which I attempted before we went to Taipei, Taiwan.

Chops’ Triple Vietnamese Juicy Lucy Burger Challenge in Hanoi:
Chops has 3 different locations around Hanoi, Vietnam – Old Quarter, Tay Ho, and Ngoc Khanh. All 3 locations host the challenge. There are three burger patties that are each Juicy Lucy burgers with gooey cheese on the inside. They are stacked and layered with bacon, more cheese, and healthy vegetables, and served with a double portion of fries/chips topped with lots of truffle mayonnaise. You have 20 short minutes to finish and challengers must also finish a 500 mL IPA beer. Winners receive the 750,000 Vietnamese Dong meal free (~$32 USD), a sweet t-shirt, and their name and photo on Wall of Fame!!
