Here’s a simple and refreshing salad for every type of rice (Daal Chawal, Biryani, Pulao)
Ingredients:
1 medium onion – thinly sliced
2 medium tomato – sliced
2 medium cucumber – diced or thinly sliced
3 green chilli – finely chopped (adjust to taste)
Fresh mint leaves – finely chopped
Salt – to taste
1 tablespoon lemon juice – or as per taste
Instructions:
Prepare the ingredients:
Slice the onion thinly and soak it in cold water for 5 minutes to reduce sharpness (optional). Drain before using.
Dice or slice the tomato and cucumber.
Chop the green chilli and mint leaves finely.
Combine:
In a mixing bowl, add the onion, tomato, cucumber, green chilli, and mint leaves.
Season:
Sprinkle with salt and mix gently.
Add lemon juice:
Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the salad and toss everything together.
Serve:
Serve immediately as a refreshing side dish or snack.
Optional Additions:
A pinch of chaat masala or roasted cumin powder for extra flavor.
