Grandma’s Italian sandwich recipe.
This sandwich is a real find for lovers of delicious and healthy. The recipe came to me from my grandmother, originally from sunny Italy. You will need:
Ingredients:
Fresh ciabatta
Prosciutto slices.
Soft cream cheese
Hard cheese (such as mozzarella or parmesan)
Juicy tomatoes
Lettuce leaves (arugula or lettuce)
Mustard
Mayonnaise
Honey
Sriracha sauce
How to cook:
The sauce is the soul of the sandwich
Mix mustard, mayonnaise, a drop of honey and some sriracha. The sauce should turn out slightly spicy, with a slight sweet note. Try it – the taste will not let you down.
Prepare the ciabatta
Cut the bread in half lengthwise. To make it crispy, dry it on a griddle or in a toaster to add texture.
Assemble the masterpiece:
Spread a generous layer of cream cheese on one half of the bread.
Place the prosciutto on top – let the slices lay nicely, with a slight sloppiness.
Follow with the cheese. Choose your favorite: for those who like classics, mozzarella will do, and for those who like bright flavors – Parmesan.
Top with tomato rings and lettuce leaves.
Final touch:
Close the sandwich with the other half of the ciabatta. Want melted cheese? Toast it on the grill or in a sandwich press.
Serve heartily:
Cut in half, arrange on a plate and savor every bite – after all, it’s not just a sandwich, it’s a slice of Italy!
