Serves: 2-4 members
Ingredients list:
Chana – small cup
Paneer – 250 grms
Basmati rice – 2 cups
Onion – 2 medium size
Capsicum – 1 small
Tomato – 2 medium size
Masala – Jeera(cumin), bay leaves, cinnamon, red chilli powder, hing (asafetida), dhaniya (coriander) powder, haldi (turmeric), garam masala powder,
Salt and water
Cooking Chana:
Step 1: Soak chana overnight
Step 2: Add chana into the pressure cooker to cook
Step 3: Add salt and pour water
Step 4: Let it cook until 3-4 whistles on medium flame
Step 5: Open the cooker – check for the softness and keep it aside
Preparing the Pulao
Step 1: Heat a pan
Step 2: Add oil to the pan and let it heat for a min
Step 3: Add Cumin
Step 4: Add Bay leaves & Cinnamon
Step 5: Add dry red chillies and hing (asafetida)
Step 6: Add chopped onion
Step 7: Saute until onion is cooked a little
Step 8: Add Capsicum and tomato
Step 9: Once the oil starts to separate, add red chilli powder, dhaniya (coriander) powder, haldi (turmeric)
Step 10: Saute and add 1 bowl of diced paneer & boiled chana
Step 11: Add a cup of water
Step 12: Add Basmati rice (soaked 1 hour prior to preparation)
Step 13: Add 2 cups of water
Step 14: Add salt to taste and garam masala
Step 15: Let it cook for 10-12 mins on medium flame, and the Pulao is ready to serve.
