This is probably one of the easiest recipes I have and I’m still kicking myself as to why I didnt start with this one but I digress. This is a great alternative for those that dont like or want to get involved in yeasted breads quite yet.
Ingredients
4 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons coarse sea salt (or 1 teaspoon table salt)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 2/3 cup buttermilk
mix till combined, knead until you get a nice ball shape, the place on a parchment lined baking tray. Cut a 1 inch deep “X” on the top to help cook the center, dont be shy with this step, mine could of gone deeper.
Bake at 425 F for between 30-40 mins.
There you have it super easy recipe. Add it to your books for when you want bread made at home without needing hours to rise and proof it.
