Ingredients:

450 g dry lentils
Water (for soaking + 225 g for mixing)
225 g sour cream
30 g oil (olive or any neutral oil)
2–3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 teaspoon baking powder
1–2 tsp lemon juice (to taste)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Soak the Lentils
Start by placing 450 g of lentils in a bowl. Cover them well with water and refrigerate for 4–6 hours or overnight until softened.

2. Preheat the Oven
Set your oven to 180°C (350°F) to get it ready while you prep the mixture.

3. Drain and Rinse
Once the lentils are soaked, drain off the soaking water and rinse the lentils under cool water.

4. Prepare the Creamy Mixture
In a separate bowl, whisk together:

225 g water
225 g sour cream
30 g oil
Minced garlic
Lemon juice
Salt and pepper
Mix until fully combined.
5. Combine and Assemble
Add the soaked lentils to a baking dish. Pour the sour cream mixture over the lentils and stir gently to coat everything evenly.

6. Bake
Cover the dish with foil or a lid and bake for 60 minutes, or until the lentils are fully cooked and the top is golden and slightly crispy.

7. Serve and Enjoy
Allow to cool slightly before serving. Optionally, top with fresh herbs or a drizzle of olive oil for extra flavor.
