This dal Sandwich is famous street food of Ulhasnagar. I’m sure many of you will recall your childhood memories looking at this recipe.

Dal Sandwich
Preparation Time – 30 mins
Cooking Time – 20 mins
Serves – 4 Sandwichs
INGREDIENTS
⭐For Dal
Moong Dal – 2 cups
Salt to taste
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Green Chilli – 1
⭐ For potato stuffing
Boiled mashed potatoes – 4
Salt to taste
Red Chilli – 1/2 tbsp
Coriander Powder – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric – Pinch
Garam Masala – 1/2 tbsp
Dry Mango Powder – 1/2 tbsp
Chaat Masala – 1/2 tsp
Green Chilli – 1
Coriander Leaves – 2 tbsp
⭐ other
Chopped onion – 1
Beetroot – 1/4 cup
Coriander Leaves – 2 tbsp
Coriander Mint Chutney
Tamarind Dates Chutney
Zero Sev
Sandwich Bread
Butter
Chaat Masala

Steps
➡️ Wash and soak dal for 30 minutes. Pressure cook for 2 whistles with water, salt, turmeric and chilli.
➡️ Mash the dal well. It should be thick but flowing consistency.
➡️ Make stuffing by mixing boiled potatoes and all the spices with chilli and coriander leaves.
➡️ Mix together onion, beetroot and coriander leaves.
➡️ Spread butter and add stuffing on a bread slice. Cover with another slice and toast it both sides using oil/butter.
➡️ Transfer to serving plate, cut into pieces. Add good quantity of hot dal, both the chutneys, onion mix, chaat masala and zero sev.
➡️ Serve immediately.
