The average small square of mars bar slice has 184 calories, 2g of protein, 10g of fat, and 16g of carbs whereas a big ass serve of my more macro friendly version has 318 calories and 16g of protein!
Welcome to my first recipe video of 2020 youtube fam and you’re in for a treat especially if you love mars bars, and have fond memories of eating mars bar slice when you were little! Watch the full video to see me in action making my version with voice overs to guide you along the way.
If you’re keen for the written method then read below:
INGREDIENTS:
One Musashi peanut crunch protein bar from woolies
One Musashi choc brownie protein bar from woolies
One 200g block of dark cooking chocolate (Aldi)
3 cups of Nutri Grain cereal
6 Tbsp of PB2 powdered peanut butter
50g of Nutellex dairy free ‘butter’
BASE LAYER GAME PLAN:
Put some baking paper into a baking tray and set it aside. Break up the two protein bars and the butter into a saucepan and stir it consistently over low heat in a saucepan. This will take about 3-4 minutes of smooshing and stirring to combine it all and get it into a semi chunky liquid. Add in your Nutri Grain and stir it altogether until its all combined, then smear it into a baking tray and set it aside.
PEANUT BUTTER LAYER GAME PLAN
To your dry mix of PB2 add gradually 1Tbsp of water at a time stirring until you’ve developed a slightly runny peanut butter paste. You’ll likely use 3 Tbsp of water or so. Pour the mix over your base layer and set it aside.
TOP LAYER GAME PLAN:
Break your chocolate up into squares and bomb it into the saucepan over low heat. Stir it consistently until its entirely melted without any chunks. Then pour it over your existing mixture so that its all nice and smear it with a spoon, before then putting it into the fridge/freezer to set until its hard. Cut into 8 squares and enjoyyyyy.

Per 1/8 of the recipe you’re looking at 318 calories, 16g of protein, 26g of carbs, 15g of fat, and no fibre
