Ragi (finger millet) is a powerhouse of nutrients, packed with calcium, iron, and fiber. It’s great for bone health, managing blood sugar, and even aids in weight loss. Paired with fresh sweetcorn and a blend of spices, this thalipeeth is not only good for you but tastes incredibly delicious! I love to enjoy this crispy thalipeeth with a dollop of white makhan (butter) and a hot cup of chai. It’s truly a heavenly combination.
Ingredients List
* 1 Raw Sweetcorn (medium size), shredded
* 1 Onion (medium size), finely chopped
* 3-4 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
* A few Green Chilies, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
* Fresh Coriander, finely chopped
* 1 tsp Ajwain (carom seeds)
* 1 tsp Jeera (cumin seeds)
* 1/2 tsp Haldi (turmeric) powder
* 1 tsp Dhaniya (coriander) powder
* 1 tsp Mirchi (red chili) powder
* 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
* Salt, to taste
* 3 tbsp White Sesame Seeds
* 3 tbsp Rice Flour
* 1 cup + Ragi (finger millet) Flour
* Water, as required
* Oil, for greasing the pan and cooking
Recipe-
– Shred 1 raw sweetcorn, take it in a bowl.
– Into that, add finely chopped – 1 medium size onion, a few green chillies and 3-4 cloves of garlic.
– Then add fresh coriander, 1 tsp ajwain, 1 tsp jeera, 1/2 tsp haldi powder, 1 tsp dhaniya powder, 1 tsp mirchi powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala, salt per taste, 3 tbs white sesame seeds.
– Then add 3 tbs rice flour and 1 cup plus Ragi flour.
– Add water as required, and make a soft dough.
– Now grease the pan with oil. And with help of wet hands, take small portion of Thalipith dough and spread it on the Tawa; as thin as possible.
– With help of spoon, mix few holes so that Thalipith becomes crispy.
– Add some oil around Thalipith and inside the holes of Thalipith as well.
– Cook both sides on medium flame, till it comes out nice and crispy.
– Enjoy with white makhan or dahi or green chutney.
It pairs best with a cup of chai.
