Hello everyone! 🌸
Today, I’m sharing a healthy, crunchy, and super tasty snack – Makhana Masala (Navratri Special).
Ingredients:
4 cups Makhana (fox nuts)
5 tbsp Ghee (clarified butter)
10–12 Almonds
10 – 12 Walnuts
10-12 Raisins
5 tbsp Peanuts
4 tbsp Dry coconut chunks
¼ tsp Black pepper, freshly ground
½ tsp Rock salt (or to taste)
Optional: Pinch of chaat masala (if not fasting)
Instructions:
Step 1 – Roast Dry Fruits (1 min)
Heat a pan on medium flame and add 1 tsp ghee.
Add all dry fruits including peanuts until golden and crunchy.
Add dry coconut chunks and stir for 1–2 minutes.
Transfer to a plate and set aside.
Step 2 – Roast Makhana (5–7 min)
In the same pan, add the remaining ghee.
Add makhana and roast on medium flame for 5–7 minutes, stirring continuously.
Test by pressing one makhana – it should be crisp and break easily.
Step 3 – Combine & Season (1 min)
Add the roasted dry fruits, peanuts, and coconut back into the pan with the makhana.
Sprinkle rock salt and black pepper.
Mix everything well to coat the makhana evenly.
Optional: Add a pinch of chaat masala if not fasting.
Step 4 – Serve
Transfer to a serving bowl.
Enjoy warm or store in an airtight container for up to a week.
Tips:
Roast makhana on medium heat for even crispiness.
Don’t skip ghee – it adds flavor and helps coat the makhana.
Can be served as a tea-time snack or fasting snack.
