INGREDIENTS
To activate yeast:
1/2 Cup (120 ml) Warm Water
2 Tsp (8 g) Sugar
1 & 1/2 Tsp (4.5 g) Active Dry Yeast
To make dough:
2 Cup (240 g) Whole Wheat Flour
3/4 Tsp (4.5 g) Salt
1 Cup (240 ml) Water
2 Tbsp (27 g) Oil
METHOD
– Mix sugar and warm water until sugar gets dissolved. Now add active dry yeast ans mix. Cover and set aside for 10-15 minutes for yeast activation.
– Take whole wheat flour in a large bowl and salt. Mix well and add yeast mixture, 240 ml water and oil.
– Knead the dough manually for 10-15 minutes or using stand mixer or hand beater with dough hook attachment for 5-7 minutes.
– Add some oil and form a ball. Cover and set aside till the dough doubles in size.
– Deflate the dough and divide into 9 equal sized portions. Use oil if the dough sticks to your hand.
– Place the small dough balls 3×3 in a 7 inch greased cake tin with parchment paper at base. Cover and keep for another 1 hour for second proofing.
– Apply milk on top. Preheat oven at 200°C for 10 minutes and bake the pav for 22-25 minutes.
– Apply oil on top and immediately remove from the mold and keep on a wire rack. Cover with a cloth and let the pav cool down.
– Use in your recipe and enjoy!
