Here’s the recipe for the Sourdough Starter
– In a bowl add 100g whole wheat flour and 100g of water. Stir well, cover and leave it in a warm place for 2 days.
– Once you see bubbles, it’s alive and ready to be fed again.
– Remove 50g of this mixture in a separate bowl, add another 50g of whole wheat flour and 50g of water. Cover and leave again in a warm place for a day.
– Next day, do the same step. Add 50g of the mixture in a new bowl and feed it again with 50g of whole wheat flour and 50g of water. Cover and leave again in a warm place for another day.
– After feeding the starter 3-4 times, observe the starter to see how much time it takes to double or triple in size.
– If it takes more than 6 hours to double in size, it has to be fed again. If it takes less than 3 or 4 hours to double in size, the starter is ready to be used to make sourdough bread.
