Ingredients Easy Moong Dal Khichdi Recipe:

– 1 cup rice
– 1/2 cup mixed dal (moong dal & masoor dal)
– 500 gm mixed vegetables (cauliflower, carrot, potato & beans)
– 4 tbs oil
– 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
– 1/2 tsp paanch phoron
– 1 bay leaf
– 1 dried red chilli
– 1 onion (chopped)
– 1 tomato (chopped)
– 1 tbs ginger-garlic paste
– 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
– 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
– 1 tsp cumin powder
– 1 tsp coriander powder
– salt
– 1 tbs coconut (chopped)
– 1 tbs peanut
– 1 tsp ghee
– 1 tsp garam masala

How to make Easy Moong Dal Khichdi Recipe:

– Heat oil in a pan and fry coconut pieces & peanuts. Add washed dals (moong dal & masoor dal) and fry for 2 mins in
same oil. Keep aside.
– Add 2 tbs oil in pan and add mixed vegetables. Fry for 2 mins or till lightly colored. Keep aside.
– Heat 1 tbs oil and add cumin seeds, paanch phoron, bay leaf & dried red chilli. Fry for 30 sec. Add onion and fry
till color change. Add tomato and fry for 1 minute. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for a minute
– Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and cumin powder. Add little water and cook the masalas well.
– Now add fried vegetables, coconuts, peanuts, salt and water (as required). Mix everything well. Cover and cook till 50%
done.
– Heat water in a large pot and add washed rice & fried dals. Let it boil on high flame.
– Check the vegetables (do not overcook) and add into the rice (when rice and dal are half cooked).Keep stirring or it
may stick to the bottom. Add salt (remember you added salt before) and green chillies. Cook till rice, dal & vegetables
are cooked completely.
– Add ghee and garam masala. Our Easy Moong Dal Khichdi Recipe is ready to serve. Serve hot with papad or pickle.
