Whole Wheat Stuffed Bao Buns 🔆

– 360 gms Whole wheat
– 7gms yeast
– 240 gms lukewarm warm water
– 7 gms salt
– 10 gms honey
Bloom the yeast in warm water and honey. L lead it into the flour. Bring the dough together and the add the salt and oil. Knead for 10 mins.
Cover with a damp cloth and let the dough rest for 60-90 mins.
For the stuffing
– 4-5 cloves of garlic
– 1 large onion
– 1 carrot
– 1 bell pepper
– Coriander stems
– 200 gms tofu
– 1 tbsp oil
– 1 tbsp soy sauce
– 2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce or ketchup
– Salt and pepper
Chop all the veggies in a food processor/ chopper or by hand.
Heat oil and sauté the chopped vegetables. Cook for 5-6 mins and the add the tofu along with the sauces and seasoning.
Cook for 5-6 mins and let it cool.

Punch the dough and divide into 9 equal parts. Flatten each part and add the stuffing.
Pinch and seal the dough properly.
Cover and let the buns rest for 10-12 mins.
Heat oil in a pan, place the buns. Let them sear for 3-4 mins.
Add 3/4 th cup water and cover and steam for 10-12 mins on a low flame.
Serve hot! 🔅
